Car description
The Wartburg 1.3 is a lower-mid range car produced by the East German Automobilwerk Eisenach (EMW) under the Wartburg brand between 1988 and 1991. For the first time in the history of the brand, it did not include a two-stroke engine, but a gasoline engine from the Volkswagen Golf. The name 1.3 refers to the cylinder capacity of this engine. Shortly after the reunification of Germany, in 1991, the production of the car stopped and the Wartburg factory ended its operation with it.
Since this engine was larger, it was not possible to use the same body, the car's engine compartment had to be modified. In addition, plastic-covered bumpers were added to the car and, unlike its predecessor, direction indicators were added to the front lights in addition to the side indexes. The rear light has also changed, instead of the previous, narrow design, there are wider and thicker brake lights at the back, and the interior has also become more modern and the gear stick has been moved from the steering column to the floor.

- Maximum of 2 Children (under 16) can sit in the same car with their parents. In this case, the reservation of 1 car is allowed.
- The driver need to be person over the age of 18, with a license obtained for at least 2 years.
- Make sure you have a valid identity card (passport in the case of foreign citizens), resident card and driving license and keep in mind that there is ZERO tolerance in Hungary for driving under the influence of alcohol. Under no circumstances is alcohol consumption allowed while operating a motor vehicle!
- EUR 250 deposit in cash is required for the rental of the cars - we will return it after the car is returned intact and complete.
- All cars have manual transmission. Practical knowledge of how to use a clutch is essential.
- Our cars are all classic vehicles therefore, operating them their driving requires more care and increased awareness with an understanding that stopping distances need to be greater and steering requires more effort than non-classic cars.
- Please arrive 15-20 min earlier than schedule start time to have time for inspection of the car, completing the necessary administration and training.
- For daily rental, the selected vehicle can be picked up at our depot every morning between 09.00h and 10.00h or we can deliver the car to any location in Budapest at an extra service.
- Please return the vehicle by 09.00h with fuel gauge is in similar position as when handed over.
- 2 óras bérlés esetén 100 km a limit, egész napos bérlés esetén pedig 250 km.
